What We’re Looking Forward to in April

If this April brings the showers, no worries. There are lots of wonderful things coming to keep you entertained indoors.

TV

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies (Paramount+ April 6)
Comedy series takes place 4 years before the movie we are all familiar with. Chronicles the founding of the Pink Ladies at Rydell High

Rennervations (Disney+ April 12)
Jeremy Renner and some of his Avenger friends renovate houses. They’re calling this a mini docuseries as it has only 4 episodes announced. Sounds like fun with lots of celebs lending a hand to help renovate homes.

Barry Season 4 (HBOMax April 16)
The series finale of our favorite hitman, Barry Berkman. Very curious to see how they wrap this up as it seems from the end of season 3, Barry does not have a lot of options.

MOVIES

Paint (April 7)
Owen Wilson plays a Bob Ross type character who hosts a popular PBS show and has hosted a Vermont station’s #1 painting show for nearly three decades. The station eventually hires a younger, better painter who steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.

Kodachrome (April 20)
An all-star cast that tells about the final days before Kodak retires the Kodachrome photo development system and concedes to digital cameras, a father and son travel to the last lab in the country which has the chemicals to develop Kodachrome film in hopes of processing photos before the still images are forever lost.

The Covenant (April 21)
Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant follows US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Afghan interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). After an ambush, Ahmed goes to Herculean lengths to save Kinley’s life. When Kinley learns that Ahmed and his family were not given safe passage to America as promised, he must repay his debt by returning to the war zone to retrieve them before the Taliban hunts them down first.

Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret (April 28)
When it comes to making a movie out of a beloved book its easy to mess it up. We are hearing good things about this adaptation. 11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) is uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school. She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who is also struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets.

Peter Pan and Wendy (April 28)
Check out this cast - Alan Tudyk, David Lowery, Jude Law, Yara Shahidi, Jim Whitaker, Rebecca Hall, Jim Gaffigan, Molly Parke. This live-action film dives deeper into Wendy’s story as she joins the boy who refuses to grow up on a magical journey to Neverland and reveals the history behind Peter Pan’s rivalry with one of Disney’s most memorable villains.
