Bar Event Idea: Kentucky Derby

Kentucky Derby (Saturday, May 6)
I like this event because it is easy to execute and draws a solid crowd.

  • Have the races on TV all day. Be sure to turn up the volume when the Derby race comes on. Typically, around 5:00 pm central.

  • Serve Mint Juleps (Use Woodford Reserve to make it authentic) and Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwiches.

  • Have a Best Derby Hat contest.

  • You can encourage “Derby Attire” or not.
